IV International Symposium on Persimmon

 

On behalf of the Organizing Committees of the IV International Symposium on Persimmon wish to inform you that, once closed the acceptance of abstracts, we are managing 78 contributions (33 selected as oral presentations and  45 selected as posters), send by authors of 17 different countries. Furthermore, 11 plenary lectures have been scheduled.

The revised Program will be available in the Web page of the Symposium in mid September, nevertheless we wish to call your attention on the following items:

RegistrationYou are invited to register as soon as possible, taking into account the Early registration deadline of July 31, 2008.

Visit to the Reggia di Caserta (historical palace and garden) A free guided visit to the Reggia di Caserta has been scheduled for the morning of Friday 14 of November (starting at 09.00 and ending at 12.00).

Arrivals and departures The Symposium will not offer transport from Airport/Railway station to the Hotel(s) in Firenze, Faenza and Caserta. The participants will find detailed instructions on how to reach hotels and the Symposium site from airports and main railway stations in the revised Program (mid September).

On the other hand, and taking into account the scheduled visit to the Reggia di Caserta, the Symposium will offer transport by bus from Caserta to different destinations as follows:

November 14, 2008 Friday

First travel Leaving at 07.00 a.m. from Caserta and arrival in Napoli Airport at 08.30 a.m., in Rome Ciampino Airport and Fiumicino Airport at around 12.00; in Florence Airport and centre town at around 17.00 p.m.

Second travel Leaving at 12.30 a.m. from Caserta and arrival in Napoli Airport at 13.30, in Rome Ciampino Airport and Fiumicino Airport at around 17.30; in Florence Airport and centre town at around 21.30 p.m.

Exhibitions We will rely on your kind availability to cooperate with us to organize an exhibition of pictures regarding persimmon in your country (art, history, landscape, production, industry, etc.) and another one of fresh and processed fruits (and other plant parts) from different countries. In order to organize the exhibitions you are kindly requested to indicate your possible offers on line (see EXHIBITIONS).

 

The revised Program of the IV International Symposium on Persimmon will be available at www.4persimmon2008.it in mid of September.
