Graduated in 1994 with a thesis entitled “...” From 1984 to 1988 collaborated with the Department of Arboreal Culture of the University of Bologna. Since 1989 he has been director of CISA Mario Neri of Imola (now ASTRA Innovazione e Sviluppo srl), where he is in charge of general management and administration of the company's activities. Within the system of research and experimentation in the region of Emilia-Romagna, he is involved in the coordination of the Apple and Pear tree programmes (comparing varieties, development of cultivars resistant to diseases, grafting methods); actively collaborates in development projects in fruit culture in Emiglio-Romano and the monitoring the quality of the fruit. He coordinates the company's information distribution and is the author of numerous technical, scientific and informative publications. Since 1987 he has been the editor of Rivista di Frutticoltura (Fruit Culture Journal) of the publishers Il Sole24Ore-Edagricole.
